The Sliding Lock Bar Sheet Lifter is by far the most popular design in the history of Cullen-Freistedt
Lifters. The unique gear reducer layout allows for smooth, easy cycling of hand or chainwheel operation
with optimum arm movement per revolution. The ease of operation and durability makes this unit the preferred
choice by operators throughout the industry for over 50 years. Units are available in hand or motorized
models in capacities from 3 to 100 Tons. They are especially designed for fast, safe handling of loose
and/or bundled sheet stock or plate. This model utilized the tong-action principle in which the Carrying
Angles are outside the jaw hinge points, and assures a firm, positive grip on the load and counteracts the
natural tendency of the legs to move outward due to sag of the material being handled.
The Sliding Lock Bar Sheet Lifter is designed so that the carrying legs can be positioned vertically for
the varied widths of material to be handled. As the width of the material is changed, it becomes readjust
the carrying legs. Adjustment is accomplished by disengaging the sliding lock bar, repositioning the leg
and lock into new required position, which can be accomplished in a matter of seconds.
